Back At It Again…

I haven’t posted anything in a very long time. I’ve been busy traveling coast to coast, into major cities, and then decided to hop off the old plane and just stay home. Well, that lasted about 6 months, and now I’ll be traveling internationally. I decided I need to travel right now. Life is too short not to see what’s out there. I’ll be posting a lot more on my future adventures and this beautiful city! I hope you guys enjoy it!!

To all you cabbies out there…

I just had a $10 cab ride from the airport to my house. From the time I got into the car, the cabbie was annoyed and showed it. He said, “Every ride is short tonight” in a frustrated tone under his breathe. I asked him what he said, but he responded with “nothing.” He started shaking his head. When we arrived to my place, he asked if I had cash. I told him no and then he proceeded to step out to get my luggage as he said, “Why not?! It’s only $10. How can you not carry that?” Now, I debated if I should even tip the guy. It was one of the worst cabbie experiences I’ve had. It was 2am… He could’ve been having a rough day/night… So I felt generous. I added $20 for tip. He got in the car to grab my receipt, and as I was stepping out he stopped me and said, “What is this?? $20 tip??” I was confused because he seemed angry. I told him, “Yes, that’s correct. Not a mistake.” He then proceeded to tell me that’s too much and I shouldn’t have. I smiled and said I wanted to. In return, I finally got a smile with a “thank you so much”.
Karma. I hope the guy in LA who helped me with my luggage to the car didn’t take offense to me not tipping him. I don’t carry cash on me… And felt really bad that I had nothing to give him. Guess it was the cabbie’s lucky night.

It’s been forever since I’ve posted! A lot has changed.

Hi, everyone! I haven’t posited since June 2014! Time flies way too fast.

I’m now with a new company… Another consulting firm. SURPRISE! Except this time, my client is in a very cool place- LA. I started in November and have been traveling coast to coast ever since. I had the chance to experience all of winter in sunny LA… It was weird!

I’ve gone to a few movie premieres, checked out amazing beaches, went to a few fillings for TV shows, rode rides at Universal Studios, met celebrities, went to San Diego, and… Did I mention I get to stay at The Beverly Hilton?! Home of the Golden Globes and 165+ other red carpet events. I walk the red carpet to get to my room some weeks. Pretty cool, huh?

I have failed to mention one thing… Despite all the above, I have to travel 6 hours on Mondays to get to work. I have to live out of a suitcase where I try to squeeze in 4 days worth of work attire, gym clothes, and gong out clothes. I don’t get a home cooked meal until the weekends. My loving boyfriend makes time to come visit me on Cali so I don’t have to come home every weekend. And I have to miss out on… Life.

Consultants have an imaginary life Monday-Thuraday (sometimes Friday). What I do on client site is purely for work. It no way effects or changes my life back at home. Life goes on at home and I’m too busy working to be a part of it. I have to squeeze in my life on the weekends… Boyfriend, family, friends, errands, relaxing, going out… From Friday night-Sunday. All my friends think it’s so cool I work in Beverly Hills, but there’s a con for every pro. Maybe 2:1.

The Boyfriend

Most people fall in love, others fall hard. I’m one of those “other” people. I can truly say that I have found someone that makes me so happy, he makes me teary eyed with all the nice things he does and says to me. I consider myself very lucky to be with a man that puts me before all his needs. At any given time, he will do whatever it takes to put a smile on my face.

When I was younger (around my college years), every girl wanted the “bad boy”… the one we had to chase. I don’t know why girls do that to themselves. That guy is never going to change. He is never going to appreciate you for who you are. He is never going to love you the way a “good guy” would. He’s a waste of time, and a guy you’ll only keep chasing. Yes, I know there’s always an exception or two, but don’t assume that it’s you.

You’ll eventually want to be with a guy who:

  • makes you smile ALL the time, even when you’re sad
  • doesn’t make things difficult
  • compromises
  • secretly keeps track of all your likes and dislikes
  • pays attention to every word you say
  • remembers everything important to you
  • wants to learn more about your family
  • gives you butterflies every time he comes close to you
  • holds your hand to keep you close
  • gives you a kiss at the most random time just so you know he cares
  • makes you feel safe when you’re with him
  • accepts all your flaws
  • encourages you to do things you never thought you’d do before
  • involves you in his life
  • includes you with his friends
  • wants to get to know your friends
  • cooks your favorite meals
  • will go out of his way to do something you’ve planned even if something came up for him

Most importantly, you’ll want to be with a guy that actually makes you feel loved. He won’t ever for a second make you feel like you’re not worthy enough for him. Doesn’t that sound better than the “bad boy” who:

  • won’t give you attention
  • won’t call or text you to say he misses you
  • won’t involve himself in your life
  • only cares about his needs first
  • makes you feel like you have to compete with other girls
  • won’t answer your call/text when he’s out with his friends
  • makes plans with others before you
  • doesn’t care about you… and never will.

Don’t waste your time. That good guy you know… is the one you want to be with. Trust me :-).

White Collar

Anyone watch the show White Collar on USA Network? Well, I don’t, but I got to see them filming live! Ah, the perks of working right by the city 🙂 Here’s a picture of some of the cast taking a break. I don’t know who the actors are since I don’t watch the series. Boardwalk empire, Orange is the New Black, Flesh and Bone, plus any more are all filing this summer in NYC. It’s interesting because NYC residents don’t get phased by the filming. Would you be starstruck?

First day at work… Off to NYC!

I’m at the airport right now about to board the plane for my first day on my new project. I’ll be flying to New York every week… Something I’ve always dreamed of. Well, almost. I’ve wanted to move to NYC, so this is a start. I decided to go with the classic black dress, and dressed it up with a grey sweater and necklace. What do you guys think?!

NYC, here I come!

Well, I can’t say I’m not excited… I’m starting a new project in about a week. The client is located in one of my favorite places in the world… NEW YORK!

I always wanted to live a Sex and the City dream… Minus all that sex. The food, people, buildings, museums/galleries, concerts, filming… And just the feel of walking around the streets of New York is overwhelming- in a good way!

I won’t be living in New York. I’ll be traveling there every week though. That’s one step closer to my dream. I cannot wait! It’ll be a fun trial and error to see if I can live in a big city like that. Let the amazing experiences begin…

Spring is FINALLY here!

This has been one of the longest winters ever! I am just so happy that it’s in the 70s and sunny here in Minneapolis. Granted it’s a bit foggy, but beggers can’t be choosers. It’s even sunnier back home in DC.

I decided to wear a cute orange dress that would be appropriate for the weather, and spiced it up with a bright neon necklace. What do you guys think?! I’m trying to step away from my usual black and blue wardrobe. Adding a pop of color with jewelry is always safe!
